Volcano Presentations

 

Volcano Project

 

Choose a volcano from this list (or select a different volcano). Only one person per volcano.

 

For the project, you must do the following:

 

à Create a guide for a tour/vacation/cruise/getaway to your volcano

- you will be giving a short presentation about your volcano

 

à Create a PowerPoint presentation that includes the following:

    • Map of where the volcano is located

    • Type of volcano (shield, composite, cinder cone)

    • Type of eruptions it has (Plinian, Strombolian, etc.)

    • Height of volcano

    • Last time it erupted

    • Any recent activity

    • Major eruptions in the past

    • Some interesting information about the area

    • Other interesting or intriguing information related to your volcano

à PowerPoint rules

    • The PowerPoint presentation is to serve only as a visual aid

    • You may use a maximum of two words per slide

    • Focus heavily on images that help illustrate what you’re talking about

à Give a short presentation about your volcano

    • Include the information listed above

 

Presentations will start on Friday, you will have Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to research your volcano and put together the PowerPoint.

 

Points:

  • Presentation includes all the required information- 30 pts

  • PowerPoint follows the "rules"- 30 pts

  • Professionalism of the presentation- 10 pts

 

Extra credit is possible for presentations that are look & sound like a professional travel guide was giving them. J

 

Don’t forget:

  • Cite your sources for all images used in your PowerPoint

  • Cite your sources for all information you utilized

    • (just the URL address is fine for this assignment)
