General Rules:

5. No one is allowed in the locker room during class!

* All students must complete the weightroom safety student/athlete acknowledgement form.
· Breaking these rules will be strictly enforced.
Equipment & Supplies:
1. Athletic Clothes (No cut off sleeves – No street clothes)
* Our class does go outside so be prepared for the different elements
of Michigan weather.

Goals & Objectives:
1. To prepare students for a lifetime of fitness and wellness.
2. To assume responsibility regarding sportsmanship.
3. To learn to listen to others carefully.
4. To learn to work with classmates in individual and team sport environments.
5. To develop basic knowledge and functional ability of course units:
1. BFS weight training
2. Weightroom safety
3. BFS agility and speed training
4. BFS 1,2,3,4 flexibility program
Class Format:
The class will consist of, but not be limited to, lectures, demonstrations, activities, and videos when appropriate. Students will be required to participate in daily activities regardless of extra curricular activities.
Student Responsibilities:
You are responsible for everything covered in class. You are to be prepared for class everyday. Failure to do so may lead to failing the class. You will be expected to lift 2-3 days per week. You are also required to participate in speed or agility training 2-3 days per week. Weight training record sheets are to be fill out daily.
Assignments:
All assignments are expected to be handed in on time. Late assignment will not be accepted.
Make-UpAssignments,
Tests, & Quizzes:
All written tests and quizzes are to be made up immediately. You will be given plenty of notice and preparation, so therefore no make-ups for skill tests or spotting quizzes will be given, because of the inconvenience to the rest of the class. Special arrangements can be made for long-term absences.
Make-Up particicpation:
Students may make-up participation points for excused absenses only. Make-up days will be provided on each Wednesday at 7:15 am (not 7:16 am). All late arrivals will not be allowed to attend make-up session. Make-up points must be completed within 10 days of the excused absence. Students must notify the instructor they will be attending on Wednesday moring. This notification must be made by the end of the class period the day they return to class. Students will be allowed to make-up a total of 6 class periods per marking period. No make-ups will be allowed following the end of each semester. Special arrangements will be made due to long-term illness or injuries providing a doctors note.
Attendance & Behavior:
You are expected to follow the school’s student handbook. All disciplinary problems will be dealt with strictly. Horse Play in the weight Room will not be tolerated!
Homework:
It is very important for the student to follow all directions and put forth the effort necessary to complete each assignment. Homework may include written assignments or projects.
Tests & Quizzes:
You should expect a written final. Handouts will be quizzed without prior notice, but can be made-up if absent.
Your Grade:
All grades are a point system and are converted to a percentage. Participation is very important and may consist of roughly 50% of your final grade.
Your grade will consist of:
1. 50% - Participation
2. 30% - BFS log sheets/Homework
3. 20% - Tests/Quizzes/Projects
