Goals & Objectives:
1. To prepare students for a lifetime of fitness and wellness.
2. To assume responsibility regarding sportsmanship.
3. To learn to listen to others carefully.
4. To learn to work with classmates.
Class Format:
The class will consist of, but not be limited to, lectures, demonstrations, activities, and videos when appropriate. The class will be divided into two sections. Class will consist of Individual sports focusing on techniques, competition, and rules. Students will be required to participate in daily activities regardless of extra curricular activities.
Assignments:
All assignments are expected to be handed in on time. Late assignment will not be accepted. There is a weekly schedule of events in the front of the gym. Write them in your planner, in case you are absent.
Make-UpAssignments,
Tests, & Quizzes:
All written tests and quizzes are to be made up immediately. You will be given plenty of notice and preparation, so therefore no make-ups for skill tests or spotting quizzes will be given, because of the inconvenience to the rest of the class. Special arrangements can be made for long-term absences.
Make-Up particicpation:
Students may make-up
participation points for excused absenses only.
Make-up days will be provided on each Wednesday at
Attendance & Behavior:
You are expected to follow the school’s student handbook. All disciplinary problems will be dealt with strictly. Horse Play will not be tolerated!
Homework:
It is very important for the student to follow all directions and put forth the effort necessary to complete each assignment. Homework may include written assignments or projects.
Tests & Quizzes:
You should expect a written final. Handouts will be quizzed without prior notice, but can be made-up if absent.
Your Grade:
All grades are a point system and are converted to a percentage. Participation is very important and may consist of roughly 50% of your final grade.
